Are there no parents in Calif. with any control over their own children ? Is it really McD making them unhealthy or is it the parent taking them there too often instead of preparing a proper meal. Who is controling here the adult or the kids.

Obviously the kids. Parents today for the most part are lazy or just uncaring when it comes to the health of their kids. McNuggets and XBoxes control their lives, not mom and dad.

If you start kids right away with healthy food the fattening high sodium stuff will taste weird to them. And there is now the option of not ordering your kids the fries and soda. And hey guess what? There's always the option of NOT eating at fast food restaurants!! If the kiddos don't need to be eating the high calorie, high cholesterol, high sodium crap I'm guessing mom & dad don't need it either.
Last night I made dinner with ingredients from the health food store. So using only one of the chicken breasts (other in the freezer for a later date), one can of chickpeas, a jar of Indian simmer sauce (way yummy) and basmati rice I have essentially five-six meals for what would only get two-three from a fast food place. Yeah that jar of simmer sauce was $4, but getting 5-6 servings out of it? That's less than a dollar per serving. A bag of rice will make how many servings? People will say they eat at fast food places because their (duh) fast and cheap. But do the math. Its really not that cheap in comparison to say a crock pot and ingredients you got from the store on sale (yay!). I say crock pot because its like the bonus fast food of the home-cooked meals. Throw your stuff together before heading out the door to work (or the night before) and when you come home voila! Dinner is served. :)
